Starring Kunchacko Boban, Joju George, Vinayakan and more, the hostage thriller film Pada is directed by Kamal K.M. A group of people called Ayyankali Pada decide to take on the government and in order to do so, they held the DM of Palakad district as hostage in his own office. Their demand was the withdrawal of the Adivasi bill that was passed in the assembly. The name Ayyankali Pada derives from the legendary social reformer of Kerala state named Ayyankali, who fought the caste apartheid in the state. He was the contemporary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar. The film is slated to release on the popular OTT platform on March 30, 2022.

• Badava Rascal – Voot Select

Dhananjay-starrer Badava Rascal, had a good run at the box office recently, will begin streaming on Voot Select from January 26. The romantic drama directed by Shankar Guru, starring Amrutha Iyengar, and actor Dhananjay is the rooted love story of a small-town boy Shankar who falls in love with a rich politician’s daughter Sangeetha.  The film with elements of love, emotions, and comedy, also displays raw yet hard-hitting imagery of the middle-class segment.
