Actors Cricket Bash (ACB) has gotten bigger this year. Stars, who are a part of the league, are raring to go. Shiv Narayan, who is Team Ahmedabad Lions in this third chapter, is excited too. Founded by Dilip Agrawal, this four-day-long event that began on March 19, is being played in T10 format.
“It feels lovely to be part of a one-of-its-kind event like this. ACB has been getting bigger every year, here’s hoping it continues this trend. We all geared up to hit the ground. There will be a lot of competition this year. I have been practicing to make sure I am able to give my best. We were all set for January but then things got delayed so it did upset the whole setting. So the only worry now is to get back into playing together as a team which was our strength last time, and as everyone knows we were the champions in season 2,” he adds.
Shiv shares that cricket is huge in India. He too is a fan. “I love watching, playing and discussing cricket. This is what makes us happy! Sachin Tendulkar is my favourite player. We’ve all grown up watching him, yes, but now I understand the man more. He had this awesome temperament on and off the field, which is even missing in our present greats,” says the actor, who will watch IPL and not be supporting any particular team. For he only supports “good cricket”.
“We want to win this year too and I want to take the man of series title home as well (laughs). Expectation is that we all win the tournament, people enjoy watching us and we all have a good time. Hope we get some close games and in future ACB gets better, scales new heights of popularity and garners more love,” he says.
Shiv also praises Dilip Agarwal. “I have known Dee (as Dilip is lovingly called) for a few years now. To see his dream of ACB come true is amazing. He’s a great cricketer himself so he was the best man to do a massive event like this. I wish the best to him and his future endeavours. We actors really appreciate him for what he does,” he ends.
