Pondicherry is the first Marathi film in India to be shot on a smartphone. This unique film has been produced in just one month. A few days ago, the teaser of this movie came to the audience. The trailer captures the natural beauty of Pondicherry, the endless beaches, the colorful French-style houses and the unique relationships that this city has to offer. While the curiosity about ‘Pondicherry’ is growing in the minds of the audience, now the trailer of the film has also come to the audience. After hosting a quality film like ‘Gulabjam’, now Sachin Kundalkar is going on a tour of ‘Pondicherry’. The film stars Sai Tamhankar, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Amrita Khanwilkar, Nina Kulkarni, Mahesh Manjrekar, Gaurav Ghatnekar and Tanmay Kulkarni in lead roles. While playing the role of a photographer, Milind Jog captures the scenic ‘Pondicherry’ and the emotional connection that develops there.
This is the story that takes place in the free-flowing city of Pondicherry. The film deals with the unique relationship between Sai, Vaibhav and Amrita and although the trailer looks like a love triangle, a new definition of relationship and family will be seen through ‘Pondicherry’. The trailer looks at a different journey of everyone’s life. Only after seeing ‘Pondicherry’ will one know which turn of life this journey takes them and whether this entanglement in their relationship will go away.
Sai Tamhankar says about her role, “I am portraying a person who is eagerly waiting for her husband to return. In it I have spoken five languages namely Marathi, Tamil, French, Hindi and English. So this experience is very different for me. I consider myself very lucky to have had the opportunity to make such a great film and such a strong personality. The entire movie is shot on an iPhone, but you won’t notice it anywhere while watching the movie. ” Which suit every mood in the film. A story based on the city of Pondicherry caught my attention. Attractive frames, great directing and portrayal of the whole film is something new for the audience, which they will surely love. “Amrita Khanwilkar says of her role in Pondicherry,” Trying to overcome. The main reason for saying yes to this role is that I liked the story very much and director Sachin Kundalkar presented it in a very interesting way. The movie was originally shot on a smartphone. So this experience was also very different. The film has been shot with only fifteen people including the cast. Working with a limited crew was very challenging. However, despite this challenge, we all completed the filming successfully. It was a new and wonderful experience for me. “
Akshay Bardapurkar, the founder and head of Planet Marathi, says of Pondicherry: We all know that this movie was shot on a smartphone. But when viewed on screen, the audience will not be aware of it anywhere. It is so beautifully portrayed. Planet is the first Marathi film to be screened in cinemas after a long period of time. Planet Marathi always promotes quality, excellent and unique creations. We are very happy that Pondicherry is a part of our family. “
