What is your definition of success?

For me, success is a journey intricately woven with resilience, self-love, and embracing life’s beauty despite its challenges. As a woman navigating multiple chronic illnesses, success transcends conventional metrics. It’s about finding triumph in the smallest victories, from managing my health effectively to fostering a mindset of gratitude. Success is waking up each day with a spirit determined to thrive, despite the physical hurdles. In the face of chronic illness, success embodies the strength to redefine societal expectations, proving that one’s worth isn’t determined by conventional norms. It’s about advocating for my well-being, celebrating self-care, and creating a supportive community around me. Success, to me, is rooted in compassion — both for myself and others who may face similar struggles. It’s about contributing to a world where understanding and inclusivity flourish, allowing everyone to shine regardless of their health circumstances. Ultimately, success is a holistic blend of physical health, emotional well-being, and fostering meaningful connections.

What role has failure played in your journey to success?

Failure, to me, has been an unexpected yet invaluable companion on the path to success. Living with chronic illnesses has often presented unforeseen challenges and setbacks, but each stumble has been a stepping stone towards resilience and self-discovery. Managing chronic illnesses has taught me to redefine success, emphasizing the importance of adaptability and the power of a determined spirit. Failure, in this context, has become a catalyst for learning, prompting me to reassess priorities, embrace self-care, and develop a profound appreciation for life’s transient nature. Each setback has fuelled a commitment to advocate for myself and others facing similar challenges, creating a sense of purpose beyond personal success. In essence, failure has become a dynamic force in shaping my journey, transforming setbacks into opportunities for resilience, empathy, and a deeper understanding of what it means to triumph over adversity.

What advice would you give to someone starting their own journey to success?

Here’s some advice I’d offer to those beginning their unique path:

Embrace Setbacks as Stepping Stones, Prioritize Self-Care, Build a Support System, Continuous Learning and Adaptability, Set Realistic Goals, Authenticity Matters,Seek Feedback and Mentorship, Embrace Failure as a Learning Opportunity and Celebrate Your Wins. Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements. Success is a journey, not just a destination. Recognizing and appreciating your progress fuels motivation for the next steps. Remember, your journey is unique, and success is a personal and evolving concept. Stay resilient, be true to yourself, and relish the adventure that is your own path to success

How did you overcome challenges or setbacks along the way?

Undying faith in myself, knowing that after every night dawns the day and an incredibly positive attitude towards life have been my cornerstone to overcoming every challenge. I believe, we need to grab the bull by its horns when faced with adversity and turn it into an opportunity. I’ve strived hard to cultivate resilience and embrace a mindset that champions adaptability. I’ve learned, albeit the hard way, that Acceptance is the first step to healing and thereby, contentment. I’ve learned to listen to my body, prioritize self-care, and celebrate even the smallest victories as significant milestones. Publishing my first poetry book, “Whispered Reverie,” was another triumph over adversity. Amidst health challenges, the creative process became a cathartic outlet, allowing me to express the complexities of life with chronic illnesses. The completion of the book not only marked a personal achievement but also served as a testament to the power of creativity in overcoming obstacles. A support system has been instrumental throughout this journey. Family, friends, and the communities I’ve been a part of have provided unwavering encouragement. Ultimately, overcoming challenges has required a holistic approach that combines physical well-being, mental fortitude, and a deep connection to my passions. It’s about turning setbacks into stepping stones, leveraging victories as sources of inspiration, and recognizing the profound impact we can have on each other’s lives.

What are your thoughts on work/life balance?

Work-life balance, for me, is a delicate dance where the rhythm is dictated by both the demands of my various pursuits and the inherent need for self-care – physical, emotional and psychological. In navigating this balance, I’ve learned to prioritize self-awareness and the importance of listening to my body. It involves recognizing when to immerse myself in the creative realms of travel and food blogging or freelance writing, and when to step back to prioritize rest and recovery. My passion for sharing insights on spirituality and meditation through my YouTube channel adds another layer to this delicate equilibrium. Travel and food blogging, freelancing, and spiritual exploration are not just occupations; they are vital components of my identity. Achieving balance involves intertwining these elements seamlessly, allowing each facet to complement and enhance the others. It’s about embracing the multiplicity of passions, recognizing the fluid nature of balance, and, above all, prioritizing well-being in the pursuit of a fulfilling life.
