Shantha Ratii is an internationally acclaimed performing artist based in Singapore, known for promoting the classical Indian dance form of Kuchipudi on a global scale. She is also a trained Bharatanatyam and Kathakali artiste. She serves as the Artistic Director of Shantha Ratii Initiatives (SRI), a not-for-profit organization that believes in the importance of innovation, inclusiveness, creativity, and dynamism in the arts. Throughout her illustrious career spanning four decades, Shantha Ratii has garnered critical acclaim & received numerous accolades and recognition for her contributions to the arts. She has been awarded the title “Natya Kala Nipuna” and a Gold Medal for the 25th anniversary of Singapore. In India, she was bestowed with the title “Kala Shiromani” in recognition of her artistic achievements. Additionally, she has received the title of “Naatyam Maalika Bharatha Acharya Ratnam” for her outstanding contribution to the field of dance and for her tireless efforts to give Kuchipudi its rightful place in the classical dance firmament.

Her performances have captivated audiences worldwide Audiences across the world have been spellbound by her performances at major festivals around the world. She is also an arts promoter, cultural activist, and filmmaker, promoting dialogue through the medium of film. She has been trying to bring classical arts to a wider audience by kindling interest in new audiences through illustrative performances, lecture-demonstrations, cross – disciplinary & multi-cultural works and original solo performances that address many social issues like gender equality & has also made significant contributions to the art community through her documentary films, covering a wide range of subjects including painting, photography, dance, and social issues including problems that affect migrants.
