The mastermind behind the baby theft case was highly educated Julia Fernandez who ran an organization called ‘Aham’. Through this organization, on the pretext of helping the needy poor citizens, she used to spy on ‘Savaj’, and through this, pregnant women were targeted and this baby selling racket was started through them. Later, she was also struggling to start a sonography center.

Fernandes has legal knowledge as he studied law. Therefore, knowing the loopholes in the law, she used to succeed in getting out of it from time to time. She was caught in the police’s net in another operation in Shivajinagar when she was not released on bail from the crime branch operation recently. Fernandes lives with family in Worli area.
She had started pursuing to start her own sonography center. However, before that, the police sent her to custody.

Fernandes has been associated with the Aham organization for the last three to four years. Through this organization, various slum areas were cleared. They used to deliver various help. In the meantime, she was preparing her agents closely dealing with women’s issues. Police said that through this connection, they find the umbilical cords of needy women and sell the babies by luring them with money. The team is investigating further in this regard.
She used to work for an IVF center. Therefore, they were spying on couples who could not have children and selling them illegally.
