Who was Thackeray’s first candidate in Mumbai for the Lok Sabha elections?
Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s party has started testing possible candidates keeping in mind the possibility of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections being announced anytime. There is a possibility that Amol Kirtikar will get the candidature from Shiv Sena’s Thackeray faction in the North West Lok Sabha constituency in Mumbai. If that happens, Gajanan Kirtikar who joined Shiv Sena. There is a possibility that his son Amol Kirtikar will contest against Gajanan Kirtikar from the Thackeray group.
A meeting was held on Saturday with office bearers of the Thackeray group in the North West Lok Sabha constituency in the western suburbs. In this meeting, party chief Uddhav Thackeray also reiterated Amol’s name. Uddhav Thackeray also instructed the workers to prepare for the elections. He gave instructions to continue the program ‘Hoo De Charcha’ all over Mumbai till the elections.
Uddhav Thackeray has previously reviewed the political situation in the Lok Sabha constituencies of Vidarbha, West Maharashtra, North Maharashtra. Now a review is being done constituency wise in Mumbai. Ex-Corporators, Heads of Departments, Heads of Sub-Divisions, Assembly Organizers and other office bearers have been instructed to attend this meeting.
Presently, Gajanan Kirtikar is an MP in the North West Lok Sabha constituency in Mumbai. eat Kirtikar has supported Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and is with him. Gajanan Kirtikar dominates this constituency. He was the Congress candidate in 2014, ex-Kha. Gurudas Kamat was defeated by Congress candidate Sanjay Nirupam in 2019.
North West Mumbai Lok Sabha Constituency has six assembly constituencies namely Jogeshwari East, Dindoshi, Goregaon, Versova, Andheri West, Andheri East. In three assembly constituencies there are MLAs from the Thackeray group, and in the remaining three assembly constituencies there are BJP MLAs. Due to this BJP can claim this constituency.
