Jolene Dias is originally from Margao, Goa India. She currently lives in London. Jolene was born just like any other normal child but when she turned 15, she was diagnosed with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD) type 2b. LGMD is a condition in which the group of muscles weaken the musculoskeletal system and hampers locomotion. Muscular dystrophies are characterised by progressive skeletal muscle weakness, defects in muscle proteins, and the death of muscle cells and tissues. Her condition started when she was in her 10th grade . The initial symptoms started with the slowing down of her physical activities. In the early stage, she could Walk, Climb the Stairs, do Squats, but she could not do it is as fast as others which meant that she used to get left behind. Gradually as the years passed by her disability progressed and her limitations also grew.
