Officially trained in the field of Law, Aanchal Saini turned her head from her successful law practice towards building fashion rentals in India. The combination works great, her investors, business partners-all like this. With this unique set of skills, she is able to bring more to the table. Entrepreneur Aanchal Saini is currently serving as the CEO of the FLYROBE, India’s first and largest Fashion Rental service Company. Aanchal founded RENT IT BAE in 2016 as a luxury fashion rental service offering clothing and accessories from designer labels on rent at a fraction of cost. She acquired Flyrobe in 2019 with a vision to multiply the business to 10X.
Aanchal is well versed with the details of the fashion rental business. She manages all aspects of the business and is responsible for taking all the key decisions at the firm. Her core belief is that “Sustainable Fashion” can transform the world with the offering of the mushrooming of the fashion rental industry. She advocates on fashion that is eco-friendlyand cost-effective.
Since Flyrobe was one of the first companies in the fashion rental space, they had no precedent to follow and that indeed was challenging. They had to develop all (technology, processes, brand communication, products, channel to reach the consumer etc.) from scratch. They did fail many times and spent 7 years in the space-now have all the permutations & combinations right. Changing the mindset of people to try rentals instead of buying was a real task. It is significant how Aanchal Saini’s efforts made it happen.
To begin with Flyrobe was a service for women only, now it caters to both-men & women. ‘Closets are full and yet women never have anything to wear’ was a statement. The reason was everything in there has been worn once- and cannot find something NEW to wear for the occasion. Aanchal commenced the business by renting western wear online At Flyrobe. Their approach was narrow. Slowly & steadily they got the permutation right: Occasion wear renting via online and physical stores.
Prior to establishing her love for sustainable fashion, she was a practicing lawyer at Delhi High Court for 7 years. Her key accomplishments include – setting up the Delhi International Arbitration Centre and becoming a true fashion rental aficionado.
Aanchal has bagged handful of prestigious awards for flyrobe. She is also published at various platforms offline and online both. Her journey from being a lawyer by profession to a fashion business speaks volume about her courage and belief that is truly inspirational.
Aanchal is invited to be the Speaker at various forums: Tie Global Summit 2019, Sheroes, 10Xwomen, Entrepreneur India, Amity University, Utrecht University, We Connect, HappyShappy, various business schools etc. representing the shared economy space and growth in the fashion part of the space.
